Comments/Details: OB/GYN needed at a Medical Center located on the eastern edge of Oklahoma City. It provides comprehensive medical care from diagnosis to treatment for a full range of illnesses, injuries and disorders. The now 247-bed acute care facility was established in 1962 as a community hospital. Maintaining a "small town" atmosphere, it has expanded or upgraded its services to a level comparable or superior to services found at larger metro facilities. With nearly 300 primary care and specialty physicians on the medical staff, specialized services are provided through various hospital divisions. The emergency department will be separated into "pods" situated so the more critically ill patients will be treated in the back of the department, while the less sick or minor injuries will be treated in a separate area. The facility will include ten ìfast trackî rooms where patients who require less acute emergency intervention can be treated without having to wait on the treatment of more acutely ill patients. There will also be five observation rooms, which will provide a more comfortable environment for patients who require more time for testing or treatment. The home health staff provides patients the opportunity to recover and rehabilitate at home. The home health staff averages over 5,000 patient visits each month to homes within a 50-mile radius. One of the largest hospital-based ambulance services in Oklahoma provides emergency medical services throughout the area. All EMS units respond with advanced cardiac life support capabilities. Equipment on each vehicle allows paramedics to identify and manage a wide variety of medical and traumatic emergencies. Annual memberships are available to residents within the service area. A primary care physician group has established offices in the area to allow residents easy access to primary care physicians. They also provide occupational medicine services to local companies. As a part of its commitment to eastern Oklahoma, officials say hospital services will continue to develop based on patient needs, maintaining its emphasis on providing quality care in a friendly, community hospital atmosphere. It serves residents and businesses located primarily in eastern Oklahoma County. The area includes Choctaw, Del City, Harrah, Jones, McLoud, Meeker, Midwest City, Moore, Newalla, Nicoma Park, Norman, Oklahoma City, Shawnee Spencer, Tecumseh, Tinker Air Force Base and surrounding areas. Within the service area, the population is made up of approximately 30% under the age of 20 21% between 20 and 35 36% between 35 and 65 12% over 65 There is an even mix of white and blue collar workers as well as retired. Eastern Oklahoma County is a thriving manufacturing and business community.

Comments/Details: An OB/GYN is needed by a hospital founded in 1930. A forward thinking physician for his time, the founder developed an interest in pediatrics after serving in World War I. Upon completion of his residency at the University of Pennsylvania, he made plans to move to Birmingham but then learned that Mississippi had no practicing pediatricians. So in 1922 he came to Meridian as the first full-time pediatrician in the state. He brought with him revolutions in the treatment of childhood diseases resulting in the enormous reclaiming of lives of infants and children who otherwise would have had no hope for survival. This hospital was the first specialty hospital in the area and has held true to that tradition through years. They have many "firsts" which include: Diabetes Education Program. Oncology unit. Specialized Pediatric unit. Resection of an abdominal aortic aneurysm and the use of a plastic artery prosthesis. Stereotactic Breast Biopsy. Lung resection. Exchange transfusion in an infant with erythroblastosis. Blood transfusions and intravenous fluids to babies which saved children dying from dehydration. Children's Therapy Center. Isolette for caring for premature infants. Controlled respiratory assistor unit for general anesthesia. Cystoscopic room with an X-ray table. Unit dosage system for dispensing patient medications. Recovery Room. Laminar flow unit to provide a completely sterile orthopedic surgery room. Videotaped educational program for the patients. Total hip replacement. From the tiny 10-bed hospital in 1930 to the 180-acute care medical complex of today, it has been dedicated to serving its community with the highest quality of care possible. Their staff is well trained and committed to a future of providing their patients with professional medical care that is attuned to meeting each individual's needs and is second to none.

Comments/Details: OB/GYN needed at medical center with convalescent unit which provides acute care, long-term care, diagnostic services, emergency services, a full-service fitness center, and outpatient services throughout the community. The hospital and convalescent unit employ more than 400 people with a payroll of more than $10,000,000 annually. The Georgia Hospital Association estimates that the contribution of the medical center to the local economy is approximately $58 million annually. It is a 77-bed acute care facility with a 58-bed nursing home. They offer state-of-the-art equipment and provide a full range of inpatient and outpatient services. Their commitment to the community's health and wellness is evident in the Fitness Center and through an extensive offering of education seminars, support groups, and disease management services. The county is a sample of southern living at its best. With an exceptional quality of life, you will find that Monroe, Loganville, Social Circle, and all the communities of Walton County are rich with history and southern charm. Although the county is growing, it still manages to maintain a quiet charm. With the convenience of being located only 45 miles east of downtown Atlanta and 20 miles west of Athens, Walton County is a wonderful place to call home. As the medical center continues to serve their community, it has become necessary to begin plans to build a new hospital facility. This exciting, challenging endeavor has received a great push forward with the generous donation of over 24 acres of land.
